Perhaps The World is Right Again: Manning & Johnson Shine
Who do you trust?
Following the unmitigated disaster that was Week 13 for many would-be heroes, fantasy owners approached Week 14 with caution. It’s the big week, either the first round of the playoffs or the final throes of the regular season.
Perhaps Thursday’s big performances from our top options demonstrated that the fantasy world as a whole was put back on its proper axis.
– Peyton Manning started hot and topped 300 yards with two first-half touchdowns. More importantly, he didn’t throw an interception. Are his troubles fixed? We can’t really say that, as he did play the Titans. However, he did come through for trusting owners.
– Chris Johnson topped 100 yards on the ground with a touchdown and led the Titans with eight receptions for 68 yards. I’d say that he delivered in a big spot.
– Pierre Garcon caught six passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns. He broke a scoring drought and lived up to his WR2 draft status, provided that he wasn’t left on your bench. Since Garcon had one touchdown reception coming into the game, I suspect that his “Start %” was quite low.
– Javarris James got into the end zone for the sixth time. He logged a season-high 17 carries for 49 yards.

Unfortunately, no amount of holiday cheer could save owners from another dud by Randy Moss. He finished the game without a reception and wasn’t even on the field late. Coal for you!
In the end, the Titans at least made a game of it. It would not have surprised anyone if they’d folded up shop after falling down big early.
