Jacob Williamson Spelling Bee & The Remix
The annual Scripps National Spelling Bee concluded on Thursday night with a tie after they ran out of words. I’m not sure how that happened, but it did. It was the first tie in the past 52 years of competition.
But that wasn’t the story of the night. A young speller named Jacob Williamson earned instant fame on the Internet following his excited outburst at the announcement of his word, “kabarayagoya,” and his subsequent dismissal from the competition.
