Good News in Oakland: Bailey Strained Forearm

The Oakland A’s and closer Andrew Bailey breathed a huge sigh of relief following the 26-year old’s visit to Dr. James Andrews.

That’s right. The fantasy universe is celebrating a trip to Dr. Andrews.

It was revealed on Tuesday that Bailey’s injury was far less severe than originally thought. When he left the mound this weekend, everyone prepared for the announcement of another Tommy John surgery (or at least another procedure by Dr. Andrews). Instead, Bailey was diagnosed with a strained forearm. There is no timetable for his return, but this isn’t the season-ender originally feared.

As such, I’ll be restoring him to my Relief Pitcher rankings on FOXSports.com on Wednesday. I’d shuffled him out and pushed Brian Fuentes up the charts because of Bailey’s presumed absence. I’ll ponder where he settles overnight (I’m guessing mid-20s).
