“Escape from San Francisco”: JT “The Brick” Joins The Fantasy Freaks to Discuss OAK-SF Aftermath
Details continue to emerge about the melee that ensued in the Candlestick Park parking lots following the Week 2 Preseason game between the Raiders and 49ers.
We know this.
There was an assault in a restroom during the game that leaves a fan clinging to his life.
Two people were shot in the parking lot, one of whom was wearing a shirt that read, “F The 49ers.” He was shot between two and four times in the stomach and was in critical condition at last check. The other shooting victim sustained wounds to his face.
JT “The Brick” , a staple on the airwaves of FOX Sports Radio and a member of the Oakland Raiders broadcast team, offered a unique perspective of the post-game breakdown in security and civility with “The Fantasy Freaks” on Sunday morning. He used a phrase on our show that perfectly encapsulated the events and spoke to the unique setting of Candlestick Park.

For those unaware of the geographic location of Candlestick Park, it is located next to “Candlestick Point,” a virtual island off of the highway. There have been some condos built in recent years and there are great views, without question.
I can say this from traveling that road a number of times myself. Traveling to and from the stadium is a long, arduous and stressful process. JT spoke of an unsettled atmosphere in the crowd as the game went on and how things spilled over after the final gun sounded.
