The Wrestler: Battling To The Top
I came across this article in the wee hours of the morning as I traversed the Internet for topics to start the day while watching bad late-night television. As an unapologetic observer of the second golden age of wrestling, also known as the rise of the WWF, World Class Championship Wrestling, the AWA and through the advent of the nWo, this story caught my eye. It’s the tale of Nigel McGuiness, former Ring of Honor champion, and his battles through independent wrestling programs on his way toward the WWE spotlight.
It’s a fantastic read with many allusions to the Mickey Rourke instant classic, “The Wrestler.”
Read McGuiness’ story.
