Los Angeles Lakers Owner Dr. Jerry Buss
It’s been a season of turmoil for the Los Angeles Lakers that included a coaching changes, a mountain of losses and myriad reports of in-fighting. The team now faces another terrible turn, as it has been reported by Mike Bresnahan of The Los Angeles Times that owner Jerry Buss has been hospitalized with “an undisclosed form of cancer.” He has reportedly been visited by Lakers legends, present and past, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Buss purchased the team in 1979, put together the “Showtime” era and several extended periods of dominance. Though he has been unable to attend games in person this season, Dr. Buss has continued to be an active participant in decision-making.
