Blake Griffin Will Undergo Knee Surgery: Davis Expected Back for Team USA
The big man woes continue for Coach K and Team USA. The team entered camp without Chris Bosh and Dwight Howard, and many pundits wondered aloud where “the beef” (read: height and bulk) were on this U.S. squad. On Thursday, that front line lost a huge, energetic force when it was revealed that Clippers star Blake Griffin would be forced to miss the London Olympic Games because of arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
Griffin just inked a five-year, $95 million extension with the Clippers, so fans of the up-and-coming squad are wringing their hands about this development. Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro advised that he believes that Griffin will have ample time to recover ahead of training camp.
