A Piece of TV History: “The Office” Casting Sheet, Day 1
As longtime listeners of my run with The Fantasy Freaks on FOX Sports Radio know, Rainn Wilson has been a friend to the program and an active participant in fantasy football leagues. I am curious to find out whether “The Office” fantasy league(s) will continue for 2013, but for now, I take pause to celebrate something Mr. Wilson put up in the Twitterverse. He posted the sign-in sheet for the first day of casting for the show. Notice that he comes in at No. 1.
Look at the rest of the list. You find fellow cast member Jenna Fischer, “Parks & Recreation” star Adam Scott, Bill Chott, who played Mr. Laritate on “Wizards of Waverly Place,” and Anne Dudek, a Northwestern product and performer who has appeared on “House, MD,” “Covert Affairs,” “Mad Men” and “HIMYM,” among others. Add a couple “24” regulars, Ben Falcone (a huge IMDB presence and Melissa McCarthy’s husband) and Hamish Linklater (“The New Adventures of Old Christine”) and you’ve got a strong competition for parts. Remember, this was just day one.
