No. 8: Tennessee Selects Jake Locker

With Blaine Gabbert still on the board, the Titans and new coach Mike Munchak select Jake Locker. It’s not a popular pick, by any means, and the criticism started immediately.

I like Locker a lot. He works well on the run with good arm strength and toughness. The accuracy issue is certainly out there, and I wonder how much the Tennessee staff attributed some of the efficiency issues to the talent (or lack thereof) around him.

In my “QB-centric” mock draft, I had Locker going seventh to San Francisco (Gabbert was in Cincinnati).

It’s certain to be the talk of the draft wraps tonight.
