Jake Peavy Joins AL All-Stars in Kansas City
The “#TakeJake” campaign by the White Sox to get resurgent starter Jake Peavy a spot on the American League All-Star roster failed. The team engaged in a number of promotions and his teammates came out in support (Gordon Beckham even did an interview in his best Peavy-speak). While the initial campaign didn’t take, Peavy was named to the squad this weekend when Angels starter C.J. Wilson withdrew because of a blister.
That gives the AL Central-leading White Sox four representatives in Kansas City: Paul Konerko, Chris Sale (AL Cy Young?) and slugger Adam Dunn.
