Gates, Cooley, Jackson Headline Week 6 Injuries
We know that the weekly injury report reads like the Encyclopedia Britannica by the end of Week 6. The number of injuries affecting top-tier receiving targets grew by at least three on Sunday.
We’ll receive complete information later this week once the test results come back. For now, add Gates, Cooley and Jackson to the seemingly never-ending run of injuries.
* Antonio Gates left Sunday’s loss to St. Louis with an ankle injury. Gates is slated for an MRI on Monday. Patrick Crayton and Buster Davis were targeted frequently in his absence.
** Chris Cooley left the Sunday night game against Indianapolis with a concussion. Fred Davis slides into the lineup should Cooley be forced to missed time.
*** DeSean Jackson started Sunday’s win over Atlanta brilliantly, posting a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown. Jackson left Sunday’s game after sustaining what FOX Sports’ insider Jay Glazer called a “severe concussion.” Jackson will almost certainly miss the Week 7 contest at Tennessee, as the Eagles take their Bye week in Week 8. Jason Avant (who caught all five of his looks from Kolb) slides into a bigger role in Jackson’s absence.
