Death Attributed To Lack Of Passion Over Iron Bowl

We see a lot of strange stories flow through the inbox and across our television screens related to sports passions running wild. We see the frenzied, sign-carrying fans on “College GameDay.” The competition continues to grow with the advent of new television networks (FOX Sports 1, NBC Sports Network, CBS Sports Network), 24-7 radio networks and the proliferation of sports websites.

Of course, mixed in with the shenanigans and clever phrases are some truly disturbing stories. Following a tremendous football game with a dramatic conclusion, a shocking story developed in Birmingham. A woman entered a party and opened fire because some of the attendees did not express enough outrage over the Alabama loss.

“She said we weren’t real Alabama fans because it didn’t bother us that they lost. And then she started shooting,” Shepherd told The Associated Press.”
