On Friday night, the sporting world was overrun with thoughts about Week 1 of the NFL preseason and the ceremony welcoming LeBron James back to Ohio. However, there was one baseball highlight that captivated the imagination of fans and the viewing public from a baseball game in Milwaukee.
The Brewers hosted the Dodgers and second-year sensation Yasiel Puig. Puig didn’t have to slam a long home run or throw out a baserunner who dared to run on him. No, he made his mark in this game from the batter’s box. Puig actually had his bat broken while completing a check-swing.
That’s right. He didn’t make contact with the ball. Puig began his swing but decided to check it up. The bat barrel continued through the zone and made a pretty cool sound. Check out the video below.
