Last week was a mess in terms of “Straight Up” selections. As I went to click “Submit” and noticed I’d made an inordinately large number of road selections, there was a sinking feeling. That occurred well in advance of the Thursday Night Football kickoff. The week began with St. Louis getting stomped by the 49ers, ending with the Saints doing much the same to the Dolphins. But for a dangerous touchdown pass to Darren Sproles that could have gone the other way, perhaps it would have been a different game. Instead, fans and fantasy owners were left wondering when Mike Wallace would become a more consistent producer for Ryan Tannehill.
Anyway, last week I produced a dismal 6-9 record straight up with a 7-8 mark against the spread.
Through four weeks, I’m 40-23 straight up and 30-33 against the number.
