Matthew Stafford: Shoulder II
Reports out of Detroit are starting to come in about the status of Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford. As feared in the immediate aftermath of the hit, Stafford’s shoulder injury appears to be serious. The report from MLive.com indicates that Stafford sustained torn ligaments and shoulder joint damage. Jim Schwartz would not comment on Stafford’s injury.
I believe the most damning piece of the equation is that Stafford is awaiting an opinion from Dr. James Andrews. I hear Andrews’ name and emit an involuntary sigh every time.
Drew Stanton steps into the first chair with Stafford out (Shaun Hill is already injured). Calvin Johnson owners have reason to be nervous.
We’ll reexamine the squad once additional details are released.
