Moore Practices: To Start Against TB
Matt Moore experienced a difficult Week 1 against the Giants. He was beaten, battered and bruised by the New York defense, committing four turnovers before departing. After several days of speculation, Moore returned to the practice field and has been cleared to start Week 2 against the Buccaneers.
Moore demonstrated his ability to get the ball to Steve Smith early in the game. He’ll have his opportunities in this game, even with top cornerback Aquib Talib set to return from his one-game suspension (he’s under fire a bit for ACTUALLY ATTENDING THE GAME TO CHEER HIS TEAM ON). We talked about rules and rule interpretation a lot this week. Am I wrong when I toss this out as perhaps the most asinine? (Notice that I did get ass in there in some form, as in, Johnson’s contact with the Soldier Field end zone.)
Let’s get back to this game. I expect to see DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart get back to basics in this game. Moore’s only a start as a QB2 in this one, but his presence certainly makes you feel better than if the team had been forced to turn to rookie Jimmy Clausen.
