First-Look 2014 BCS Championship Game Odds: Tide Rolls On
The dust has barely settled in Miami, where the Alabama Crimson Tide steamrolled the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to claim their third title in the past four years. It was the fourth title of Saban’s career. He’s run roughshod over the SEC since he first joined the LSU Tigers and, barring a sudden change of heart, he’ll be back for more with a loaded squad in 2013. A.J. McCarron returns to run the offense, and you know that the team will be strong in the trenches.
So, to the surprise of nobody, Alabama has been installed as the favorite to win the BCS Championship Game in 2014. Notre Dame sits at 30-1.
- The Crimson Tide carry odds of 5/2.
- The high-flying Ducks sit as the second-favorite now that Chip Kelly has spurned the advances from the NFL.
- Ohio State, left out of the mix because of the tattoo sanctions, return quarterback Braxton Miller and company and should be a factor (6-1).
- Andy Murray has announced his return to Georgia, thereby establishing the Bulldogs as a 12-1 option (tied with South Carolina).
