ICYMI Slash Performed The National Anthem Before Game 3
I had the good fortune of attending Game 3 of the Western Conference Final at Staples Center on Saturday. With the series between the Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings tied at one game each, the crowd was buzzing a full hour ahead of the puck drop. NHL Dignitaries lined the media area, and the Hollywood elite was present, as you’d expect.
The crowd started the game in a bit of a frenzy. They didn’t even need to drop the puck and go on the attack against Chicago goaltender Corey Crawford. No, the first notes of Slash’s rendition of The National Anthem did the trick. The former Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver guitarist produced a fantastic moment for the series and got the Memorial Day weekend started with the appropriate note.
