Mike Pereira, Former Head of Officiating, Explains The CHI-DET Ruling

It’s the talk of NFL Week 1. It’s the play that set the Twitter-verse ablaze this afternoon.

If you’re unaware, I’ll recap it briefly —

Calvin Johnson, who had been held in check by the Chicago secondary all day (the Bears got some pressure & did knock Matthew Stafford out of the game – more on that injury this evening), went up and seemingly pulled down a 24-yard touchdown pass to put Detroit ahead in the waning seconds of the game. Instead, the pass was ruled incomplete and the Bears escaped with a win.

Mike Pereira, former NFL Head of Officiating, broke down this controversial call on FOXSports.com .

The play may have finally brought the long, oftentimes brutal, road losing streak to a close.

Do you agree? Did they get it right?
