Kobe Bryant’s return to the court was announced in a video of a jersey swaying in the wind, impervious to different types of precipitation and strong winds. I suppose he couldn’t use “I’m Back” because that’s probably trademarked by the Michael Jordan juggernaut. But, the folks behind the Lakers (and Kobe’s camp itself) in marketing and PR couldn’t put together something better than an empty jersey? None of the Hollywood elite that reside in the best seats would put together a bit?

What about a montage of big Kobe moments? What about a menacing, nodding Kobe? Hell, how about selling out the remaining inventory for this game and those coming up?

It wouldn’t be a bad advertisement for the United States Postal Service. The jersey is pretty resilient in the wake of dramatic weather effects.
