Earlier this week, the video of an abbreviated press conference with UCLA head coach Jim Mora made the rounds on the internet. While addressing the death of 20-year-old redshirt freshman receiver Nick Pasquale, a media member in the session answered a phone call. Mora rightly left the session following the interruption.
He later addressed the media outside of the UCLA practice facility and paid tribute to the late receiver with talk of his practice habits and what Pasquale meant to his teammates. While we consume story after story about the ugly side of the NCAA coin, this serves as a fantastic reminder of the familial relationship forged between players and coaches.
