The End of an Era: Pat Summitt Steps Down at Tennessee

After 38 years and 1,098 wins, Hall of Famer Pat Summitt has stepped down from her post as Tennessee Volunteers Head Coach. She assumes the role of “Head Coach Emeritus,” a role that will keep her close to the program in an advisory role.

Her longtime assistant, Holly Warlick, will succeed Summitt as the team’s next head coach. Warlick was an accomplished player at Tennessee under Summitt and earned three All-American nods.
